Illinois Couple Charged With Battering Children

An Illinois couple has been charged with beating an 11-year-old boy because he didn’t clean the bathroom the way they wanted.

Loves Park Police said Alexandria Thompson, 30, and Branden Crane, 35, were arrested for a December 29, 2024, incident after a weeks-long investigation, WTVO reported.

Police were called about that incident on January 1, when the caller said the 11-year-old had been beaten and had visible injuries.

Crane threw Thompson under the bus, saying he’d seen her hit two children around six different occasions, but it didn’t stop police from charging him with two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of unlawful restraint.

Thompson was charged with unlawful restraint, two counts of aggravated battery, domestic battery causing bodily harm, and domestic battery causing physical contact.

Court documents say Thompson used several different household items to hit the children.
