Wordle is an addictive daily English-language word puzzle that has been capturing the attention of players since it was released to the public in 2021.
This game was originally created by New York-based software engineer Josh Wardle as something for him and his partner to do during the COVID-19 lockdown. Within months, it attracted millions of players from all over.
Wordle became so popular that it caught the eye of The New York Times, who purchased the game for an undisclosed seven-figure sum in January 2022.
Despite its simple gameplay loop where players attempt to solve a five-letter word in six attempts or less, Wordle has managed to captivate its audience.
The color-coded system used by players adds an extra layer of fun and challenge to the game, making it even more engaging.
Erhan Aslan, an expert in applied linguistics, has offered helpful advice to Wordle players in a previous interview with Newsweek.
