Sean Strickland’s reign as middleweight champion came to an abrupt end just over four months after it began, as he lost the strap to Dricus Du Plessis in a heated battle during Saturday’s UFC 297 main event.
Strickland (28-6 MMA, 15-6 UFC) fell to Du Plessis (21-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in a disputed split decision at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Now, the question is, will Strickland make a comeback to regain his position at the top, or was it just a temporary reign for him?
