Well-known for his role in the popular series Outer Banks, North was taken into custody for committing gross misdemeanor battery on February 13th after reportedly getting into a physical altercation with hospital staff at a Las Vegas emergency room, as documented in a police report revealed by TMZ.

In response to the incident, North released a detailed statement explaining the circumstances, stating that he was experiencing a severe anxiety attack at the time of his visit to the hospital.

Expressing his regret over the events that unfolded in Las Vegas, he wrote on his Instagram Story on February 15th, “My friend took me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. Various tests were conducted, including a blood test, which came back negative for any presence of drugs or alcohol in my system.”

Although North emphasized his deep respect for healthcare workers and hospital staff, he confessed to having a limited recollection of the events that transpired at the hospital that day.

“I have been dealing with anxiety for years, and this incident marked the most intense panic attack I have ever experienced,” added the 27-year-old. “Moving forward, I aim to raise awareness about this incapacitating disorder and provide hope to those who have faced similar struggles.”

According to the police report, Austin was alleged to have struck one nurse in the head and pushed two other medical personnel during his visit to UMC Hospital in Las Vegas. Security officers eventually managed to subdue North onto a gurney after one of the staff members struck him with a tray in self-defense.

North had traveled to Las Vegas over the weekend to partake in Super Bowl festivities. A video posted on Instagram on February 14th captured the actor attending various parties, including an encounter with NFL star Rob Gronkowski during the latter’s event at Encore Beach Club.

Scott Kerbs, the UMC public relations director, communicated to E! News that the hospital is unable to disclose specifics regarding individual patient interactions to preserve patient confidentiality. However, he did assert that violence against healthcare workers, who dedicate their careers to aiding others, is consistently condemnable.

Kerbs reiterated, “UMC is committed to maintaining the safest environment possible for our staff, patients, and visitors.”

Although E! News has reached out to the Las Vegas police for their input, there has been no response as of yet.
