Gasunie and Storag recently announced their collaboration to establish a hydrogen storage facility in the Etzel salt dome in Lower Saxony, Germany. Their goal, post a feasibility study, involves creating a multi-cavity storage site capable of storing up to 1 TWh of hydrogen. This project will significantly impact the hydrogen market in both the Netherlands and Germany, especially with its proximity to Gasunie’s Hyperlink hydrogen network and Germany’s Energy-Hub port in Wilhelmshaven.
