The Exciting Trade: Rangers Acquiring Jack Roslovic

The Rangers Make Trade for Jack Roslovic

The Rangers have made a significant trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets, acquiring winger/center Jack Roslovic in exchange for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2026. This pick could potentially become a third-rounder if the Rangers manage to reach the Stanley Cup Final this season.

Roslovic was a key player for the Blue Jackets, playing on the top line alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Boone Jenner as the right wing. In the 40 games he played this season, Roslovic has contributed six goals and 17 assists to his team’s performance. At 27 years old, he is due to become a free agent after the current season.

Throughout his eight-year career with the Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets, Roslovic has shown his scoring prowess by surpassing the 20-goal mark twice, with his most recent accomplishment being in the 2021-22 season when he recorded 22 goals and 23 assists.

While there were rumors linking the Rangers to other players like Jake Guentzel (who was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes) and Frank Vatrano (who appears to be staying with the Anaheim Ducks), the team ultimately focused on making depth moves at the trade deadline. In addition to Roslovic, the Rangers also brought in center Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken and depth defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Rangers’ latest acquisition of Roslovic adds a new dimension to their offensive lineup and strengthens their overall roster as they push forward in the competitive NHL season.
