Ohio Women Caught Red-Handed Using Corpse to Withdraw Money from Bank

Ohio Women Accused of Using Corpse to Withdraw Money from Bank

Allegations Against Two Ohio Women

Reports from Fox News reveal that Douglas Layman, an 80-year-old man, lived with Karen Casbohm, 63, and Loreen Bea Feralo, 55, although they were not related. On March 4, the women discovered Layman dead at their residence.

Rather than alerting authorities, the women allegedly decided to transport Layman’s body around town. They placed his corpse in the passenger seat of a car, with the help of another individual, and drove to his bank’s drive-thru to withdraw $900.

Authorities indicated that the women positioned Layman so that bank tellers could see him, as they had previously allowed the women to make withdrawals on his behalf as long as he was present in the vehicle.

Further Bizarre Events Unfold

Following the withdrawal, the women drove to the Ashtabula County Medical Center and dropped Layman off at the emergency room without providing any information to hospital staff.

Police Chief Robert Stell mentioned to Fox News that the women left without sharing any details with the hospital, leaving Layman behind. Nurses initially could not identify Layman, but after a few hours, one of the women contacted the hospital with his personal information.

Charges Faced by the Accused

On March 6, authorities arrested Casbohm and Bea Feralo at Layman’s home. They were charged with gross abuse of a corpse and theft.

Fox News speculates that Layman’s cause of death remains unknown, potentially leading to additional charges for the women as the investigation progresses.

Casbohm appeared for her arraignment, with a $5,000 bond set, while Bea Feralo is scheduled for her court appearance on March 14. If convicted, they could face up to a year in prison for each offense.

In conclusion, the bizarre and shocking events surrounding the Ohio women’s actions with Layman’s body have led to serious legal consequences for them.
