Scandal rocks formula 1 as Toto Wolff comes under fire for alleged conflict of interest. The FIA has revealed that it is currently being looked into, citing the seriousness of the matter.
“The FIA is aware of media speculation regarding confidential information being transmitted to an F1 team principal by an FOM staff member. The FIA Compliance Department is looking into this matter for further examination,” wrote the FIA, clarifying earlier comments made by Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
The F1 has swiftly responded, denying any knowledge of such events. According to the FOM, none of its members would have had access to confidential information about Toto Wolff or his wife Susie.
Claiming the allegations are completely false, the F1 warns of the severe repercussions of making false statements: “We take note of the public statement made by the FIA this evening, which was not communicated to us in advance.”
“We are confident that the allegations are false. We have robust processes and procedures in place to ensure the separation of information and responsibilities in the event of a potential conflict of interest.”
“We are confident that no member of our team has made an unauthorized disclosure to a team principal and we caution against any baseless and reckless allegations.”

“We take note of the FIA’s generic statement this evening, addressing the unfounded allegations from one media outlet, and the unofficial briefing that linked it to the Director of the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team,” the team wrote on their site and social media, officially requesting further details.
“The team has received no communication from the FIA Compliance Department on this matter and was very surprised to learn of the investigation through media statements.”
“We completely reject the allegation contained within the statement and associated media coverage, which wrongly impinges on the integrity and compliance of our team principal. We invite the FIA Compliance Department to send us a full, prompt, and transparent correspondence regarding this investigation and its contents.”
