HeadRush has unleashed the resurrected ReValver 5 – an upgraded modeling engine that seamlessly integrates with the brand’s multi-effects pedalboards.
The ReValver software makes its long-awaited return after its last update in 2014 by Peavey – the company that originally introduced the award-winning modeling platform in the early ‘00s, when digital amps were still in their relative infancy.
Five years after the last update, the guitar amp software was acquired by inMusic, the parent company of HeadRush, and is now back with updated specs and functionality to complement HeadRush’s hardware catalog of multi-effects pedals.
However, the market conditions are tough, with strong competition from Line 6, Neural DSP, and now Fender. Despite this, HeadRush’s experience in this field and the loyal players of ReValver make the return a promising venture for the company.
The biggest news is the compatibility between ReValver and HeadRush, offering a wide array of tonal options to the users. This is a functionality many players have been seeking in an amp modeling multi-effects unit.
This essentially means that HeadRush presets can be crafted in ReValver and used in a DAW via the ReValver’s VST and AU plugins, while amp models from the ReValver plugin can be used on-stage with the HeadRush multi-effects.
With loads of officially licensed Peavey and Budda amps at your fingertips, including those made with “the aid of the original equipment”, the ReValver 5 promises to be a game-changer in the amp sim arms race.
