Amidst the dark and heavy times, Maja Dixdotter set out to bring a light and airy touch to the By Malene Birger collection. Drawing inspiration from vintage lace found in her mother-in-law’s attic, she incorporated a delicate butterfly crochet on ivory separates. The fluid movement of the pants and skirts, as well as the use of a soft, fluffy “eyelash” fabric in a kimono, added a touch of whimsy to the collection.
The Greek-island mood from the previous season was still evident, with shell and column details woven into the knits. Sun hats and fringe gave off a vacation vibe, while pops of raspberry and blue added a playful element to an otherwise neutral collection. Red thong sandals with hearts added a romantic touch beyond the digital world.
Dixdotter emphasized the importance of comfort, strength, and longevity in fashion, believing that clothing should make you feel good and be honest. By shooting the look book herself using analog methods, she embodied the genuineness and creativity she values. This trusting, free, and optimistic spirit is also reflected in the clothes themselves.
