British Triathlon’s Adam Elliott named High Performance Coach of the Year at the UK Coaching Awards
Elliott, the Head Coach at the Loughborough High Performance Centre, has had a remarkable year working with the World Class Programme. Among the many success stories, we saw Alex Yee’s Olympic Test Event win securing his place for Paris 2024 and Sophie Coldwell’s historic World Triathlon Championship Series win.
Yee’s successful year included wins at WTCS Cagliari and Abu Dhabi, securing his place on Team GB for next summer’s Games. Coldwell also had an incredible year, claiming her first WTCS victory and adding to her silver medal in Abu Dhabi at the start of the season.
Sophie Coldwell shared her thoughts on working with Adam Elliott: “I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been coached by Adam for 14 years now. He’s been incredibly adaptable, wherever we are in the world or the scenarios we find ourselves in. For him coaching isn’t a 9-5 job. It’s something he’s incredibly passionate about and loves doing, and as an athlete, I can’t thank him enough.”
Adam Elliott and his athletes also shared the wins at the UK Coaching Awards, with Sophie Coldwell and Alex Yee praising Elliott for his hard work and dedication. Elliott himself expressed his gratitude for the award, noting: “It’s a true privilege to be awarded UK Coaching ‘Performance Coach of the Year.’ I’m part of an excellent team and am lucky enough to work with some incredible athletes and I feel this is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of all these people.”
