Huawei has unveiled the MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition, and it promises to provide a superior writing experience compared to the standard MatePad Air. This innovative model features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and an impressive 11.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2.8K and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, among other cutting-edge features.
Just days after introducing the MatePad Pro 13.2 internationally, Huawei has announced the PaperMatte Edition of the MatePad Air, claiming that it shares some similarities with the standard version. Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 888, a 5 nm SoC with an Adreno 660 GPU and ARM Cortex-X1, Cortex-A78, and Cortex-A55 CPU cores.
While the PaperMatte Edition retains the 8,300 mAh battery and quad speakers found in the standard edition, it sets itself apart with a paper-like texture on the display. This unique feature, along with the tablet’s use of micro-vibration and damping, creates the sensation of writing on paper when the second-generation M-Pencil is utilized. The 11.5-inch IPS display of the MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition operates at a remarkable 144 Hz, offering a native resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels.
The MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition will be available in the Eurozone for €649, which includes a tablet with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as well as a Smart Magnetic Keyboard accessory. However, it’s worth noting that the second-generation M-Pencil is not included with this price.
