Meet Tommy Colletti, the mastermind behind the renowned global guitar retailer, The Music Zoo. He is now venturing into electric guitar manufacturing with his latest project, Colletti Guitars. This new endeavor aims to bring his passion for the guitar to life through high-quality, expertly crafted instruments.
The brand is kicking things off with the solidbody Speed of Sound guitar. Inspired by the classic guitars of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, it boasts a blend of vintage appeal and modern functionality to meet the needs of today’s players.
One of the key features of Colletti Guitars is customization. The 25.5″ or 24-3/4″ scale length guitars are available in a range of top woods, including roasted, quilted, and flame maple, as well as ash and mahogany for a richer, darker tone.
Equipped with specially-voiced OX4 pickups, these guitars offer a unique blend of vintage warmth and modern power. The neck humbucker, in particular, is a reverse-magnet pickup inspired by the iconic ‘59 ‘Greeny’ Les Paul, combining the best of vintage and contemporary tones.
What sets these guitars apart is the patent-pending Reso-Link brass plate, designed to enhance resonance, sustain, and touch-sensitive articulation by linking the body and neck together.
The unique headstock design is a standout feature of Colletti Guitars. Inspired by his daughter’s drawing, Tommy Colletti has given the classic Strat headstock a new look, adding wave-like curves and protrusions.
Every Colletti Guitar features the signature Colletti Carve neck, meticulously sculpted for comfort. The wiring is sourced from the company responsible for wiring Fender builds in the 1950s, ensuring top-notch quality.
Adding to their retro appeal, these guitars are assembled using hot hide glue, which allows the separate pieces to bind together without any loss of vibration for exceptional tone and sustain.
With a lifelong passion for guitars, Tommy Colletti has poured his expertise and obsession into creating instruments that embody his quest for perfection. Experience the magic of Colletti Guitars and discover the nuances that set them apart.
