Breaking News: Dominick Reyes’ Opponent Ruled Out of UFC 297
Dominick Reyes revealed on Saturday that his opponent, Carlos Ulberg, has been forced to withdraw from UFC 297 due to injury. Expressing his frustration, Reyes took to Instagram to share the news, saying he believes “god has a plan.”
Sources at UFC have informed MMA Fighting that the fight is expected to be rescheduled for UFC Atlantic City on March 30 at Boardwalk Hall. There has been no immediate response from Ulberg regarding the situation.
Originally set to kick off the event’s ESPN+ pay-per-view card at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Jan. 20, UFC 297 will now proceed without the highly anticipated Reyes vs. Ulberg matchup.
After a series of tough losses, including a controversial split decision against Jon Jones, Reyes is eager to get back on track. Meanwhile, Ulberg has been on a winning streak, with his most recent victory coming by way of a submission at UFC 293.
While fans will have to wait a little longer to see Reyes and Ulberg face off in the Octagon, the anticipation for their eventual match at UFC Atlantic City continues to build.
