Exciting News: Josh Emmett Needs a New Opponent for UFC 296
Listen up fight fans, Giga Chikadze has dropped out of the scheduled fight at UFC 296 on Dec. 16 in Las Vegas, leaving Josh Emmett without an opponent.
Now, Emmett is on the hunt for a replacement to go toe-to-toe with him in the final UFC card of 2023.
In an announcement on Twitter, Emmett declared, “Giga’s out. Who’s ready Dec. 16?”
Chikadze’s absence is a bummer for fight fans, considering he made a triumphant return to action in August with a unanimous decision over Alex Caceres, after being out of the ring for 18 months following a tough battle with Calvin Kattar.
Having to gain clearance from the Nevada Athletic Commission to compete at UFC 296 due to the damage from his last fight, news of Chikadze’s withdrawal is a real letdown.
Meanwhile, Emmett is eager for a chance to bounce back after some tough losses, and is ready to put on a show for his fans.
