Unbelievable Rescue: Woman Saved After Being Compacted Inside Garbage Truck
A shocking incident in Manchester, New Hampshire, saw first responders come to the rescue of a woman who was found inside a garbage truck on Monday (Jan. 29).
According to Boston 25 News, initial reports suggest that the woman had been inside a dumpster before the garbage truck unknowingly picked her up along with the trash from Beech Hill Drive.
The driver of the truck admitted that the trash had been compacted at least four times before he spotted the woman on a camera inside the truck and called 911.
While the exact sequence of events is still unclear, neighbors revealed to Boston 25 News that the woman is a long-time resident of the area and may have fallen into the dumpster while taking out her trash.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
The dramatic rescue operation, which lasted about 30 minutes, involved firefighters attempting to communicate with the woman before using a fire truck cane to pull her out of the garbage truck.
According to a neighbor named Amanda Czzowitz, the woman was screaming in pain, while Matthew Czzowitz prohibited his children from witnessing the distressing scene when she was pulled out of the truck.
Although details about the woman’s condition post-rescue are limited, it was reported that she was transported to Elliot Hospital in serious condition.
