The Latest Release of Pokémon TCG: Paldean Fates in 2024
As the new year kicks off, the Pokémon Trading Card Game introduces an exciting set, featuring the comeback of Shiny Pokémon cards and other sought-after collectibles. With a collection of over 100 Shiny cards and a total of 245 in the set, Pokémon TCG: Paldean Fates presents a plethora of possibilities for collectors and enthusiasts—yet the question remains, will luck be on my side with my pulls?
Unique to Paldean Fates, enthusiasts cannot simply purchase a Booster Box filled with packs. Instead, options are limited to products like Elite Trainer Boxes, Tins, and Booster Bundles, which do not guarantee a specific number of valuable pulls like a Booster Box. These loose packs present a different challenge for collectors seeking rare finds.
Unboxing a Paldean Fates Elite Trainer Box, Booster Bundle, and Shiny Charizard ex Tin graciously sent by The Pokémon Company, I am granted 20 chances to unveil some of the most coveted cards in the set, such as Special Illustration Rares for Shiny Mew or Trainer cards like Iono and Nemona. Having had varied success with past sets like Pokémon 151 and Paradox Rift, anticipation for a substantial win in this collection runs high.
Our Top Finds from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TCG: Paldean Fates
Having my hands on a Paldean Fates Elite Trainer Box and Shiny Charizard ex Tin, I can ensure a few noteworthy discoveries with the Special Illustration Mimikyu and Shiny Charizard ex promo cards included in each. As it turns out, both the ETB and Tin did not disappoint, rendering substantial rewards.
Commencing with the ETB, I uncovered one of the finest, non-Illustrator Rare Shiny Pokémon in the form of Charmander. This remarkable pull was complemented by a Shiny Natu, a Special Illustration Rare Shiny Pawmi, and a coveted Full Art Clive—a card highly sought after for my collection. To conclude the ETB adventure, I was surprised with a Hyper Rare Koraidon ex, slightly inferior to its Miraidon equivalent but still a commendable addition.
Transitioning to the six packs from the Booster Bundle, the luck seemed to dwindle as notable findings were scarce. With only a Gardevoir ex to boast of in the initial four packs, the situation seemed dire until a Clodsire ex appeared. The final pack managed to salvage the opening with a double delight—a Shiny Oddish alongside a second Special Illustration Rare Shiny Pawmi.
The Shiny Charizard Tin exhibited a higher overall value, although it yielded merely three hits in five packs. The first pack introduced a second Hyper Rare Koraidon ex, succeeded by a Shiny Entei, and culminating with another Gardevoir ex, showcasing a slightly more favorable outcome.
In conclusion, the Pokémon TCG: Paldean Fates collection presents a dynamic opportunity for enthusiasts to explore and unravel rare treasures, providing an exhilarating experience for collectors and players alike.
