Exclusive Dinner Outing for Famous Co-Stars

Meryl Streep and Martin Short were captured leaving a dinner venue side by side last Wednesday, putting an end to the rumors suggesting they are romantically involved.
The duo, known for their roles in “Only Murders in the Building,” shared a meal with a bunch of companions at the popular restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.

The pair, who have been rumored to be an item for some time now, are both in their seventies – Short being 73 and Streep, 74.
Nevertheless, during a recent episode of the “Club Random with Bill Maher” podcast, Short addressed the speculations, categorically stating, “We’re not a couple. We are just very close friends.”

One of their fellow co-stars from “OMITB,” Jackie Hoffman, expressed to Page Six her skepticism about the relationship rumors between the pair. “I’ve seen platonic chemistry, but I didn’t think for one second,” she said. “I think they’re both such good actors that everyone believed it because they wanted to believe it.”
Hoffman humorously added, “He’s always ‘on,’ and I can’t picture her tolerating it!”
