Revolut Collaborates with MetaMask to Simplify Crypto Purchases
Revolut has teamed up with the self-custodial wallet MetaMask to introduce Revolut Ramp, a new feature that allows users to fund their MetaMask wallets directly from their Revolut accounts.
The partnership aims to streamline the process of adding crypto to self-custody wallets for users in the U.K. and European Economic Area (EEA). Users can leverage their fiat currency balance in their Revolut accounts or opt to pay with Visa or Mastercard cards, as stated in the press release.
Lorenzo Santos, senior product manager at Consensys (the team behind MetaMask), emphasized that this collaboration is geared towards providing users with more control over their crypto assets in a user-friendly manner through familiar and trusted platforms.
Santos also highlighted the significance of this partnership in driving broader adoption of cryptocurrencies and expanding access to the world of crypto for a wider audience.
In February, Revolut announced its plans to introduce a cryptocurrency feature tailored to “advanced traders,” as revealed in an email to customers obtained by CoinDesk. Currently, Revolut offers basic crypto services to a substantial portion of its 40 million customer base.
Notably, the company ceased offering crypto services to business customers in the U.K. in December due to the implementation of new regulations by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) governing crypto-related promotions.
This development underscores Revolut’s commitment to enhancing the user experience and accessibility of cryptocurrencies through innovative partnerships like the one with MetaMask.
