The distributed product comes from La Raza LLC in Forestville, MD, and is sold in brick-and-mortar stores across Maryland. The affected bags can be identified by the lot codes D300 EX1024 and F272 EX1026, visible on the packaging.
The recall stems from a discovery by the Maryland Department of Health, which found elevated lead levels in the product samples. Further investigation suggests that the issue may be linked to tainted raw materials from the supplier.
If you have purchased El Chilar Ground Cinnamon “Canela Molida” with lot codes D300 EX1024 and F272 EX1026, it is advised to discontinue use and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
