In a recent interview with Glamour, the iconic When Harry Met Sally actress defended her son Jack Quaid, whom she shares with ex Dennis Quaid, against criticisms of nepotism in Hollywood. She expressed that reducing her son solely to his famous parents is unfair and dismissive of his talent and hard work.

Meg went on to praise Jack’s natural talent and work ethic, recalling a moment from a middle school production where he demonstrated his gift for acting. She expressed pride in his abilities and sensitivity to the concept of privilege.

“Jack is really talented. He’s more of a natural than I’ll ever be. That nepo stuff is so dismissive of his work ethic, his gifts, and how sensitive he is to the idea of his privilege,” she said.

As for Jack, who made his movie debut in 2012’s The Hunger Games, he has spoken openly about the pressures and assumptions that come with following in his parents’ footsteps. He sought to establish himself in the industry on his terms, choosing not to rely solely on his family name.

Despite facing skepticism and stereotypes, Jack remained committed to proving himself and forging his own path in Hollywood. He emphasized that having genuine friends who valued more than just status or popularity was crucial in helping him stay grounded and true to himself.
