Even though this will be his last year as governor due to term limits, Ron DeSantis (R) remains a target of Florida’s Democrats due in large part to his effectiveness, the fact that he’s unapologetically conservative, and his standing firm on the issues that are important to him and a majority of Floridians.
So it was no surprise that amid the marathon session that produced a new congressional map approved by lawmakers on the day of the Louisiana v. Callais SCOTUS ruling, and which DeSantis promptly signed into law, some Democrat state lawmakers staged temper tantrums to protest the map’s supposed lack of fairness in representation.
Among them was Angie Nixon, the state representative for District 13 in the Florida House. She also happens to be running for the U.S. Senate. As RedState reported, Nixon was seen (and heard) using a bullhorn to try to disrupt proceedings.
ICYMI, watch:

On Thursday, the Florida House Rules and Ethics Committee officially reprimanded Nixon for breaking House rules by using the bullhorn.
The House Ethics Committee has officially voted to reprimand Rep. Angie Nixon for “intentionally and repeatedly” breaking House rules during the April 29 session.
“When our rules become suggestions, the rights of every member of this House become less secure.”
The committee found that Nixon’s use of a megaphone on the House floor created an environment of “confusion and chaos.”

Because everything is stupid, and because she wants to draw attention to herself and raise money for her Senate campaign, Nixon staged what she called a “moral sit-in” at DeSantis’ office on Friday to protest the new map and to call for it to be undone:
“I would love for the governor to come holla at ya girl”
