Alabama Man Waves Chair in Alabama Riverfront Brawl, Avoids Prison Sentence
The man who was seen wielding a folding chair in the now-infamous Alabama Riverfront brawl caught a break, as he won’t be spending any time behind bars. Instead, Reggie Bernard Ray was handed 50 hours of community service and a 90-day suspended sentence after entering a conditional guilty plea.
This means that if he successfully completes his community service and stays out of trouble, he won’t see the inside of a jail cell. You might recall Ray from the viral clip earlier this year when he was seen coming to the defense of another Black man during a dispute with white men.
This incident quickly escalated into a serious brawl, with Ray’s chair-swinging antics becoming a memorable sight. The incident has spawned multiple memes and even some merchandise, with Ray also cashing in on the fame by selling his own merch.
