Big news out of Nashville today! The Padres have officially traded Juan Soto to the Yankees and in return have landed five players, four of which are right-handers.
RHP Michael King, one of the key players in the trade, has posted a 2.75 ERA in 49 appearances last season which is definitely impressive. He is sure to make an impact and provide the pitching depth the Padres were searching for. In addition to King, RHP Jhony Brito, who was included in the deal, has shown potential with a 101 ERA+ in his rookie season. The Padres are hopeful that both pitchers will strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
Last but not least, the Padres also added catcher Kyle Higashioka to their team, providing the depth needed to support Luis Campusano. This trade is definitely going to shake things up for the Padres and Yankees this season!
