In 2021, Anne Hathaway tied the knot with her husband, Adam Shulman, in a stunning Valentino bridal gown tailored just for her.
Valentino Garavani, the esteemed designer who received a prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2023 British Fashion Awards, referred to Hathaway as a dear friend and even compared her to a daughter.
It’s no wonder Anne Hathaway graced the rain-soaked red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in a vintage Valentino gown from the spring/summer 1993 collection, accompanied by Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino’s life and business partner.
During an interview with Hathaway’s former stylist Law Roach, Giametti revealed that the dress was designed with spaghetti in mind, to which Hathaway humorously quipped, “And I’ve always dreamed of being pasta.”
Valentino’s inspiration knows no bounds, drawing creative influence not only from the Hollywood elite but also from a plate of pasta. Case in point: Gwyneth Paltrow arrived at the Fashion Awards adorned in a Rosso Valentino gown from the brand’s couture collection from 1965.
The 91-year-old designer will be honored for his incredible contributions to the fashion world. “He is confident, disciplined, demanding yet generous—a true dreamer,” remarked Giametti.
The celebrated duo, along with their beloved pugs, stepped down from the label in 2008, passing the baton to creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Piccioli praised Valentino’s unwavering commitment to perfection and injects beauty into everything he creates, emphasizing the importance of beauty in all aspects of life.
