- Get ready – Blockdaemon is about to level up! The self-custodial wallet will now incorporate the cross-chain messaging capabilities of LayerZero. Exciting, right?
- And that’s not all! This game-changing partnership will heighten LayerZero’s security, according to Ryan Zarick, CTO of LayerZero Labs. Things are about to get even more secure!
Breaking news – blockchain infrastructure firm Blockdaemon has joined forces with LayerZero Labs, the brains behind omnichain interoperability protocol LayerZero. The result? A self-custodial wallet that packs a powerful cross-chain punch.
Blockdaemon to also operate a DVN on LayerZero
In a groundbreaking announcement, we’ve learned that Blockdaemon is poised to become the infrastructure provider for LayerZero Labs’ blockchain messaging protocol. Plus, Blockdaemon is set to take charge of a Decentralized Verifier Network (DVN) on LayerZero. Hold onto your hats, folks!
And the DVN party doesn’t stop there – running alongside Blockdaemon will be Animoca Brands, Google Cloud, and Gitcoin.

The launch of DVNs now offers off-chain verification of messages and further solidifies the partnership with LayerZero, which also involves the protocol utilizing Blockdaemon’s node-as-a-service platform. This is just the tip of the LayerZero iceberg!
Konstantin Richter, CEO and founder of Blockdaemon, had this to say about the integration: “The integration of both Blockdaemon’s Wallet with LayerZero and DVN (Blockdaemon Oracle) holds the promise of establishing a secure, compliant, and hyper-scalable entry point to liquidity pools while ensuring institutions retain complete control over their assets.” Sounds like Blockdaemon is on a mission, folks!
This integration isn’t just a game-changer for Blockdaemon. They’re setting their sights on increasing institutional adoption for their self-custodial wallet and DeFi API. Their wallet made its debut in April, and they’re just getting started.
When asked about the partnership, LayerZero Labs CTO and co-founder Ryan Zarick said: “LayerZero Labs aims to develop cross-chain infrastructure and interoperability technology that is built to last: always immutable, permissionless, and censorship-resistant. Blockdaemon’s integration of the LayerZero protocol into their industry-leading MPC wallet and participation as a DVN within LayerZero demonstrates the enterprise-grade utility of the LayerZero protocol and expands the number of DVNs that developers can choose to leverage within their Security Stack.” The sky’s the limit for LayerZero!
