An exciting incident recently took place in California, where a 23-year-old woman is now facing criminal charges due to her Stanley Cup craze. According to PEOPLE, authorities arrested her on January 17. It is reported that she was caught trying to make off with thousands of dollars’ worth of drinkware from a local store.

The turn of events came to light when the Roseville Police Department published a Facebook post on January 21, describing the incident that took place the previous week. Officers at the department received a report about a woman who stuffed her car with numerous Stanley water bottles, after being witnessed leaving a store with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise that she refused to leave behind at the store’s doors.
Police officers were able to track down the suspect entering Highway 65 and pulled her over with a traffic stop. The woman was then arrested, although her identity hasn’t been revealed yet.
The Cup Criminal Faces Legal Action
Following a search of the woman’s vehicle, police discovered 65 Stanley products valued at $2,500. She has been charged with Grand Theft for her actions.
In their social media post, the officers advised against engaging in criminal activity to satisfy their need for a Stanley Cup, emphasizing the police department’s commitment to putting an end to retail theft.
Additionally, the Roseville Police Department also shared various photos of the items confiscated from the woman’s vehicle.
