The delay‌ in Donald Trump’s payment of the $450 ⁣million+ judgment in his civil fraud trial has sparked ‌discussions ⁤about New York Attorney General Letitia ⁢James potentially⁣ seizing his New York property if he fails to settle. E. Jean Carroll, who is owed $83.3 million by Trump, has voiced serious doubts about ever receiving‌ the‌ money.

A recent ruling by a New York appeals court rejected Trump’s plea‍ to freeze the judgment and ‌allow him to secure a $100 million ⁣bond to cover the remaining amount. Former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance shared her insights on this‌ development‌ on MSNBC, highlighting that ⁤while Trump appeals the decision, the⁣ Attorney ⁤General could take steps to enforce the judgment by targeting his real estate holdings.

Assessing Trump’s request to postpone enforcing Carroll’s judgment, lawyer‍ Roberta Kaplan raised concerns about his ‌credibility in meeting the ⁣financial obligations. Kaplan emphasized in court documents that ⁣Trump’s proposal lacked⁣ substance, likening it‍ to⁣ a flimsy promise from an untrustworthy borrower.

In response to the legal challenges, Trump denounced the situation as a politically motivated attack on ⁤his reputation. He portrayed the legal battles ⁢as a historic persecution of a political opponent, vowing to pursue every avenue of appeal until he achieves a fair outcome.
