Charlie, Tiger Woods’ son, made his debut at the PGA Tour Cognizant Classic pre-qualifier on Thursday.
There was a lot of anticipation surrounding his participation due to his lineage, with even the PGA Tour documenting his arrival.
However, he struggled during the round and ended up with a score of 16-over 86.
A Learning Experience
At just 15 years old, Charlie is taking in a valuable learning experience from this event.
While he started decently with a par, his game faltered with consecutive bogeys and a double-bogey on the fifth hole.
The seventh hole proved to be particularly challenging, with Charlie making a score of 12, a tough situation for any golfer, let alone someone his age.
Showcasing Grit
Despite the setbacks, Charlie showed resilience by not giving up after the difficult seventh hole and finishing strong with a series of pars.
His determination paid off, as he managed to salvage the round.
In the latter part of his round, Charlie displayed steady play and finished 4-over for the final 11 holes.
While it may not be his time to shine just yet, there is potential for growth in his future in golf.
If his perseverance and determination in this event are any indication, Charlie has a promising career ahead in golf.
