Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Donovan Smith revealed that the team didn’t have hot water following a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Kansas City was able to gain a first down on the following possession after two tough rushes by Isiah Pacheco, running out the clock after Patrick Mahomes took a knee. Mahomes added to his impressive postseason résumé with another strong performance, throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns on a frigid evening in Buffalo.

Smith and the rest of the Chiefs’ offensive line did an exceptional job of protecting the two-time MVP, as Mahomes wasn’t sacked during the game. He has yet to take a sack during Kansas City’s current playoff run.

The Chiefs’ run blocking was also strong, with the team racking up 146 yards on 24 attempts. That represents an average of 6.1 yards per carry.

Smith will face a tough test during Kansas City’s impending AFC Championship game appearance, as the Baltimore Ravens boasted one of the league’s best front sevens. The Ravens accumulated 60 sacks during the regular season, the highest mark in the NFL.
