Wondering what stores are open for last-minute necessities on Turkey Day? These are the stores open on Thanksgiving in 2025.
There’s nothing worse than being in the throes of making Thanksgiving dinner, only to realize you’re missing an essential ingredient. Needing the chicken broth for your stuffing, kitchen twine for your turkey or another serving of everyone’s favorite canned cranberry sauce can grind your prep to a halt until you can run out to the store.
Rather than driving around with your fingers crossed, hoping your nearest grocery store will be open, check out this list of grocery stores open on Thanksgiving Day 2025. Please note that all grocery stores in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be closed on Thanksgiving due to state law.
Grocery Stores Open on Thanksgiving
These grocery stores offer Thanksgiving hours this year:
- ACME: Most Acme markets are open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
- Albertsons: Typically, Albertsons are open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving, but some locations may have reduced hours. This chain also makes our list of stores open on Christmas Day.
- C-Town: This northeastern grocery store will be open on Thanksgiving Day with reduced hours, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Cub Food: Cub grocery stores will be open on Thanksgiving, with most locations closing early at 4 p.m.
- Fairway Market: Fairway will be open with reduced hours, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Food4Less: Most stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., though some locations will be closed.
- Food Lion: Stores will be open until 3 p.m., but opening times vary by location.
- The Fresh Market: All locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
- Giant Food: Shoppers can expect their location to be open for its regular hours.
