It has been confirmed by DC Young Fly that a recent GoFundMe page created for his late girlfriend, Jacklyn “Jacky Oh” Smith, was fraudulent and has been taken down.
The suspicious fundraiser was initially set up by Oh’s sister, Brooke Smith, with the goal of raising $1,000,000 to pay off the late reality star’s mortgage and establish a trust for their three children. Upon learning of this crowdfunding effort, the comedian and actor from Wild ‘n Out took immediate action to have the post removed from GoFundMe due to its questionable nature.
According to a statement provided to Page Six by DC’s publicist, swift measures were taken to ensure the fundraiser’s removal, with GoFundMe confirming its deletion and issuing refunds to all donors. The platform’s strict regulations were cited, emphasizing their intolerance for misuse of community generosity.
Reports indicate that the fundraiser only managed to raise $285 from 11 donors before being shut down. A screenshot of the GoFundMe post was shared by The Neighborhood Talk prior to its removal.
The post detailed the impending foreclosure of Jacklyn’s home and requested assistance in paying off the property to secure a future for her children. Brooke shared the fundraiser link on her Instagram Story, urging support to preserve her sister’s legacy.
Jacky Oh tragically passed away on May 31, 2023, following complications from cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner later determined her death to be accidental due to surgery-related issues.
In the midst of this controversy, DC Young Fly remains resolute in upholding Jacky’s memory and protecting her legacy. The family’s genuine intentions were overshadowed by the falseness of the fundraising effort, prompting a swift response from concerned parties.
