The 2024 NHL Winter Classic took place at the Mariners’ T-Mobile Park on New Year’s Day, and it was a sight to behold.
The Seattle Kraken made a grand entrance to the outdoor hockey game, showing up in Pike Place Market fishmonger outfits complete with life-size fish props. It was a fun and lighthearted nod to the famous Seattle landmark known for its fish market stalls.
Adding to the festivities, some Mariners stars past and present were featured on the goalie helmet in the form of baseball cards. Kraken goalkeeper Joey Daccord channeled Randy Johnson as he delivered a shutout performance, stopping 35 shots in a 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights, the reigning Stanley Cup champions, made a statement of their own by arriving in full Elvis attire. It was a spectacle truly fitting for Las Vegas.
