A College student from the University of Missouri, Riley Strain, has been missing since March 8 during a fraternity excursion in Nashville. Strain was last seen in the vicinity of the Cumberland River in the city. Recently, investigators expanded their search to a river dam located 42 miles downstream from Nashville, but unfortunately, no new information was discovered, as confirmed by the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office.
Dam Search Yields No New Information
Officials reported that the search at Cheatham Dam in Ashland City did not provide any leads regarding the disappearance of the 22-year-old University of Missouri student. Additionally, the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that deputies combed through the Cumberland River from the county border to the dam, yet found no significant clues.
Timeline of Events
Riley Strain went missing after an incident at Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink establishment, where he was ejected on March 8. This occurred while he was in Nashville with his Delta Chi fraternity members. Despite the presence of surveillance footage capturing Strain, there have been no further sightings or cellphone activities after 10 p.m. that same night. Subsequently, his bank card was discovered along the Cumberland River embankment.
Investigation Details
While there have been social media tips and suspicions of foul play circulating online, Nashville authorities confirmed on Tuesday that there is no evidence suggesting that Strain was being pursued or faced any threats on the night of his disappearance. Numerous tips have reached the Metro Nashville police department, but none have led to concrete leads.
Alcohol-Related Investigation
The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission is currently looking into whether Strain may have been over-served alcohol. Luke’s 32 Bridge claimed that Strain had consumed one alcoholic beverage and two glasses of water before being asked to leave. The investigation by TABC is ongoing and they are collaborating with law enforcement to determine where Strain was served alcohol that evening.
Riley Strain’s family expressed their gratitude towards the Nashville community for their support and efforts in the search for their son, emphasizing their continued hope to bring him back home safe and sound. The investigation into his disappearance remains active, with authorities and volunteers working diligently to uncover any new leads.
