Geoff Neal is gearing up for an opportunity at what could be a truly satisfying victory at UFC 298 next month.
The American fighter, with a record of 15-5 in his professional career, was set to face Irishman Ian Machado Garry last summer but had to withdraw due to injury. The fight was already filled with tension after Garry mocked Neal’s past legal issues by creating a t-shirt with Neal’s mugshot on it, sparking backlash from Neal and the MMA community.
After Garry defeated Neal’s replacement, Neil Magny, in an impressive manner this past August, the stage is set for Neal to seek revenge as he goes head-to-head against Garry in a featured bout at February’s UFC 298 card in Anaheim, California.
If Neal can deliver a performance similar to his recent win against Vincente Luque (whom Garry withdrew from a fight with in December), the hard-hitting fighter has a strong chance of claiming victory. Watch his performance below, and view Garry’s win against Daniel Rodriguez here.
