Exciting Lineup Revealed for Los Angeles Movie Festival: ‘I Saw the TV Glow’ Premiere and Kim Gordon Talk Included

An Exciting Film Festival is Coming to Los Angeles

A brand new film festival is making its way to Los Angeles, showcasing independent films, documentaries, and engaging artist discussions. Scheduled to take place from April 4-7, this event will be held at various locations in Chinatown, Eagle Rock, and Filipinotown.

The Los Angeles Festival of Movies, founded by Micah Gottlieb and Sarah Winshall, will kick off with Jane Schoenbrun’s “I Saw the TV Glow” on April 4, followed by the closing night film “Rap World” by Conner O’Malley and Danny Scharar on April 7, both happening at Vidiots.

Screenings will be held at Vidiots in Eagle Rock, 2220 Arts + Archives in Historic Filipinotown, and Now Instant Image Hall in Chinatown. Additionally, there will be an artist talk featuring musician and artist Kim Gordon alongside writer Rachel Kushner discussing their ties to the city and its cinematic culture.

In recent years, Los Angeles has seen a decline in film festivals focusing on independent cinema, with the closure of the L.A. Independent Film Festival in 2018 and the absence of Sundance’s L.A. screening series. However, the Los Angeles Festival of Movies is here to fill that void.
