Get ready for the 81st Golden Globes! It’s time to honor the best in movies and television from 2023. This year, there were incredible winners in 27 categories, with Oppenheimer standing out as the big winner of the night.
Oppenheimer not only took home the prestigious award for Best Motion Picture – Drama, but also scooped up wins for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama (Cillian Murphy), Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Director – Motion Picture (Christopher Nolan), and Best Original Score – Motion Picture (Ludwig Göransson).
Succession also had a fantastic night, coming in close behind Oppenheimer with four well-deserved wins. This HBO series took home awards for Best Television Series – Drama, Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Sarah Snook), Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Kieran Culkin), and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television (Matthew Macfadyen).
But the night wasn’t just about Oppenheimer and Succession. The Bear and BEEF both secured three awards, while Poor Things, The Holdovers, Anatomy of a Fall, and Barbie proudly walked away with two wins each.
