Prepare yourselves, because we are on the verge of being inundated with clones of Vampire Survivors. It’s just a sprinkle right now, but with the indie game escape velocity reached, everyone will be jumping on the bandwagon.
Take Among Us for example. It wasn’t the first social deduction game, but after its success, there was a flood of similar games, some of which are mere carbon copies.
Now, these two big hits are colliding in Vampire Survivors: Emergency Meeting. This new game is essentially Vampire Survivors dressed in Among Us attire.

I used to think I had no experience with Among Us, but that’s not entirely true. My nephew loves the game, so I’ve played it several times with my family. It’s a perfect game for some family gaslighting, and it’s even let me know who my mother trusts more: me or my sister. Food for thought as I’m ejected out of the airlock again.
I may not have a personal connection with Among Us, but I’ve really grown to love Vampire Survivors. It’s a great source of dopamine and features fantastic music. Buying the DLC is a no-brainer for me since it’s only $2.49, which is less than the cost of my breakfast.
For less than the price of breakfast, you get 9 new characters, 15 new weapons, 6 new tracks, a huge new stage, and one of those fancy new adventures. It’s definitely worth it for the music alone.
As mentioned earlier, the contribution of Among Us to this new game is mostly cosmetic. You’re not going to be hunting for impostors; instead, you’ll be strolling around with your powerful arsenal annihilating everything in sight. While there are plenty of references to Among Us in the game, at its core, it remains Vampire Survivors.
Some of these references feel a bit forced. Take the Lucky Swipe weapon, for example; it’s simply a keycard moving back and forth. What’s worse is that it makes a really annoying sound, and it’s not the only new weapon to do so. It got so irritating that I had to turn down the sound and crank up the music instead.
The new music, on the other hand, is absolutely fantastic. It’s some of the best music in the entire game. I could listen to it on repeat for hours.
