After finishing in second place at Challenge Canberra just one week ago, Fenella Langridge turned disappointment into triumph with a stunning win at Ironman Busselton, closing her season on a high note. Langridge dominated the competition in an epic battle that showcased her incredible skill and determination.
Right from the start of the race, Langridge and Dutch athlete Lotte Wilms established a commanding lead as they emerged from the water after an impressive 51 minutes, leaving their competitors several minutes behind. The fierce competition continued onto the bike leg, with Lisa Norden gradually joining the two leaders before pulling ahead in the second half of the race.
Despite Norden’s strong performance on the bike, Langridge staged a remarkable comeback during the run, ultimately seizing the lead and crossing the finish line in 8:29:43. Norden finished in second place with a time of 8:33:02, while Wilms secured third place in 8:40:59.
