Harmony Raises the Bar with New H62 Addition to Reissue Series

Introducing the Newest Harmony H62 Reissue

Harmony recently launched the H62 as a part of its Reissue Series, aiming to pay homage to its historical craftsmanship while giving a contemporary twist to its classic instruments. The H62, also known as the “jazz dark horse,” draws inspiration from the jazz and blues dominance of the 1950s, featuring a hollow-bodied design that promises warm tones with a snappy edge.

In terms of aesthetics, the H62 boasts Harmony-designed pickups with a silver-plated build, each equipped with a single row of poles. The guitar showcases a twin F-hole spruce top, flame maple body, and a vintage two-tone sunburst finish for that classic look. Its cream binding, tortoiseshell pickguard, and inlaid logo and motif on the headstock further accentuate its stylish appeal.

In terms of functionality, the H62 features four black Bakelite knobs that offer individual volume and tone controls for each pickup. Additionally, a three-way selector switch with a diamond tortoiseshell switch plate is conveniently located on the lower bout of the guitar. The C-shaped set-neck construction ensures comfort, sustain, and stability, aligning with modern player preferences.

The guitar is equipped with a rosewood fretboard, 20 medium jumbo frets, pearloid block inlays, a 25.5” scale length, 12” radius, and a 43mm neck width. It also features a Tune-O-Matic-style bridge with a rosewood base and a chrome lyre trapeze tailpiece, maintaining its vintage charm. The H62 is manufactured in Korea and comes complete with chrome ‘butterbean’ vintage tuners and nickel hardware.

Moreover, Harmony’s Reissue Series now includes the H62 and the H72 Reissue, both offerings that pay tribute to their classic American predecessors. The company also revamped its 8418 amplifier as part of its reissue collection.

David Nam Le, General Manager at Vista Musical Instruments, expresses pride in reintroducing the iconic Harmony H62, emphasizing its significance in the brand’s design legacy and future endeavors. Established in 1892, Harmony has been essential in nurturing aspiring musicians from the early days of instrument learning, creating a lasting impact on the musical landscape. Since its relaunch in 2018, Harmony has been dedicated to bridging its rich history with contemporary advancements, ensuring a promising future for the brand.
