Insignia Air Fryers: Don’t Miss Out on Best Buy’s Recall of Almost 190K Units Due to Fire Reports

Best Buy Recalling Nearly 190,000 Insignia Air Fryers Due to Safety Concerns

Best Buy is issuing a recall for almost 190,000 Insignia air fryers amid reports of overheating and shattered glass incidents. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) revealed that out of 24 reported cases, six of them involved the air fryers catching fire. Luckily, no injuries or property damage have been reported as a result of these malfunctions.

The CPSC’s recall statement highlights the potential risks associated with these air fryers, such as handles melting or breaking due to overheating and glass doors shattering on the air fryer ovens. These hazards could lead to fire, burn, and laceration risks for consumers. Approximately 187,400 units are affected in the United States, along with an additional 99,000 units sold in Canada.

Specific models involved in the recall include NS-AF34D2, NS-AF5DSS2, NS-AF5MSS2, NS-AF8DBD2, NS-AF10DBK2, and NS-AF10DSS2. Consumers are advised to stop using these air fryers and air fryer ovens immediately. Best Buy has instructed customers not to return the recalled products to their stores. Instead, individuals can contact Best Buy at 800-566-7498 or register online for a refund.

This recent recall by Best Buy follows a similar incident in December 2023, where over 300,000 units of PowerXL dual-basket air fryers imported from China by Empower Brands were recalled. Additionally, in 2022, Best Buy initiated a recall for approximately 635,000 Insignia air fryers and air fryer ovens in the U.S., with an additional 137,000 units recalled in Canada.

It is essential for consumers to prioritize safety and be aware of any product recalls that may impact their household appliances.
