New Wave of Game Optimization Technology from Intel
Intel has recently expanded its Intel Application Optimization technology to include an additional twelve games. This enhancement means that gamers using supported processors and enabling the technology can expect a boost in framerate for several popular games. Additionally, older processors can now benefit from this technology with some extra steps.
Performance Boost with IAO
The launch of the Core i9-14900KS by Intel coincided with the update to the Intel Application Optimization technology. This powerful processor, with speeds up to 6.2GHz, now receives an extra speed boost of up to 11 percent in games like Metro: Exodus, based on data from Intel’s presentation.
New Game Additions
Initially, Intel’s IAO only supported Metro: Exodus and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege with the 14th-gen Core lineup launch. However, the latest update has brought support for additional games like World of Warcraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dirt 5, and F1:22, among others.
How It Works
Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (Intel DTT) includes the application optimization feature, which fine-tunes workload threads to appropriate cores via Intel’s Thread Director. To utilize this technology, users need to install and enable Intel DTT, as mentioned in Intel’s documentation. A user interface can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
Compatibility and Advanced Mode
Supported processors for IAO include Core i7-14700HX and Core i9-14900HX on mobile, and Core i9-14900K/KF/KS and Core i7-14700K/KF on desktop. Intel also offers an Advanced Mode, allowing users to enable the feature in unsupported games and experiment with 12th- and 13th-gen Core chips.
Innovative Approaches by Intel
While Intel cannot guarantee performance improvements in unvalidated configurations, the Advanced Mode feature offers users a chance to explore the full potential of their processors beyond official support.
With a constant evolution of game optimization technology from Intel, users can expect more games and processors to be supported in the future. This indicates a promising outlook for enhanced gaming experiences with Intel technology.
