Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash in the country’s East Azerbaijan province, along with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other officials, Iranian state media reported. First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber was named Monday as interim president. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, asked Mokhber to ensure the election of a new president within 50 days, state media reported.
