WEBWIRE – Friday, January 5, 2024
Hello everyone! The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE or Exchange) wants to keep you updated on the recent trading halt that occurred on January 3, 2024.
During the halt, a technical problem affected at least one-third (1/3) of the trading participants (TPS), causing issues with connecting to PSEs front-end order management system (FEOMS) and submitting orders to the trading system. The FEOMS is responsible for sending buy and sell orders for processing to the trading system.
The issue was discovered to be related to the mobile trading application and its authentication process for all accounts, including inactive ones. A stall in one of the four silos in the FEOMS led to the problem due to issues with the authentication steps.
The Exchange and the FEOMS developer have made improvements to the mobile trading application and are actively working on further enhancements to prevent such issues from happening again.
PSE is dedicated to engaging with all stakeholders and service providers to continuously improve and future-proof its products, systems, and services for the investing public.
