Josh Toth’s Historic Victory at 2024 General GNCC Enduro Race from Second Row

Challenges were once again prevalent at the General GNCC weekend in Georgia. The race started with Ricky Russell from AmPro Yamaha grabbing the holeshot in the XC1 Open Pro class. Steward Baylor of Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki took the lead on the first lap, only to be overtaken by Johnny Girroir from FMF KTM Factory Racing on the second lap, and eventually by Russell on the third lap.

Girroir regained the lead from Russell on lap four and held onto it for the rest of the race, securing his third consecutive victory in the XC1 Open Pro class.

The most exceptional performance of the day came from Josh Toth, who made history by winning the XC2 250 Pro class from the second row. This accomplishment had never been seen before in the Grand National Cross Country series.

Despite the harsh weather conditions, Toth’s performance stood out and will be remembered as a monumental milestone in the world of enduro racing for years to come.

Reflecting on his win, Toth expressed his disbelief and gratitude, emphasizing the hard work that led to this extraordinary moment. He credited his team and previous tough races for preparing him for this success, hinting that more victories were on the horizon.

XC1 Class Winners:

  • Johnny Girroir of FMF KTM Factory Racing continued his domination in the XC1 class, securing a hat-trick of wins.
  • Jordan Ashburn displayed remarkable grit, finishing second overall in the class.
  • Steward Baylor kept his championship hopes alive with a solid third-place finish in the XC1 category.

XC2 250 Pro Class Results:

  • Toth’s unprecedented win from the XC2 line made history, while Liam Draper, the defending champion, also secured a podium finish.
  • Grant Davis from FMF KTM Factory Racing Lander’s impressed with a second-place finish in the class and eighth overall.

FMF XC3 125 Pro-Am Class Standings:

  • Jhak Walker of Liqui Moly Factory Beta Racing extended his winning streak with another victory in the class.
  • Dustin Simpson and Zach Davidson put on strong performances to claim podium spots.

WXC Class Highlights:

  • Shelby Turner of Canada made history by winning the women’s class, following the footsteps of Brandy Richards.
  • Turner’s victory marked a significant achievement for the Enduro Engineering team.
  • Rachel Archer fought hard for podium finishes, while Korie Steede demonstrated impressive skill and determination.
