She mentioned how people frequently approach her about The Holiday and her appearance on Extras rather than mentioning Titanic. The actress expressed her delight at the special connection fans have with The Holiday, especially during the holiday season when mothers and daughters make it a tradition to watch the film together and bond over it.

In the 2006 romantic comedy, Winslet starred alongside Jack Black, Jude Law, and Cameron Diaz. The story follows two women who decide to exchange homes to escape their romantic troubles and end up finding love in unexpected places.

In contrast, Titanic, released in 1997, saw Winslet play the role of Rose alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The film tells the tragic love story of a wealthy young woman and a working-class artist aboard the ill-fated Titanic, earning Winslet an Oscar nomination for her performance.

During her chat with Fallon, Winslet reminisced about the time he and Robert Downey Jr. auditioned for The Holiday, revealing that she initially thought it was just a script reading and not an audition. She recalled Fallon being unwell during the audition but still giving his all for the opportunity to act alongside the cast.

Winslet also shared a funny anecdote about Downey attempting an English accent for the audition, which she mistook for an Australian accent, prompting her to think it sounded less than convincing. Fallon, on the other hand, found Downey’s accent impressive, showcasing a different perspective on the situation.

Overall, Winslet’s candid revelations on The Tonight Show shed light on the lasting impact of The Holiday on viewers and the unexpected ways fans connect with certain films more than others.
