It seems that the internal testing of the new lineup, which will feature the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is making excellent progress. Even more tantalizing, the tipster has hinted that the new flagships may enter the mass production stage as early as September, much sooner than expected!
The Xiaomi 14 series made waves as the first lineup of commercial phones to house the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and it looks like Xiaomi is determined to keep the momentum going. According to Digital Chat Station, the internal testing of the Xiaomi 15 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is progressing at an impressive pace.
Moreover, the tipster revealed that Qualcomm’s fully self-developed architecture, involving the innovative Nuvia cores, has shown significant performance enhancements. With such promising developments, it’s anticipated that the Xiaomi 15 series, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, will be entering the mass production phase in September.
But that’s not all – previous reports from the tipster have shed light on the screens for the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. According to the tipster, the standard model will retain a flat display similar in size to its Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 13 predecessors. The 15 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to feature a slightly curved 2K display with ultra-narrow bezels, adding an extra layer of excitement for prospective buyers.
Returning to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, earlier reports have suggested that Qualcomm has codenamed it “SUN” and it will be produced on TSMC’s N3E process. It will boast the new self-developed Nuvia cores and is expected to be a whopping 40% faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, according to early Geekbench scores.
