Mainspring Recovery Opens New Residential Treatment Facility in Lynchburg Bringing Expanded Addiction Recovery Services to Central Virginia

Lynchburg, VA – June 6, 2025 — In a significant move to address the growing need for accessible addiction treatment in Central Virginia, Mainspring Recovery has officially opened its newest high-intensity residential rehabilitation centre in downtown Lynchburg. Located at 620 Court Street, the facility marks the organization’s latest expansion following the success of its existing programs in Dumfries and Triangle, Virginia.

With a capacity of up to 111 beds, the Lynchburg location becomes one of the largest inpatient recovery centres in the region, offering individuals a path to healing in a structured, medically supervised, and supportive setting. The facility is designed to serve both men and women struggling with substance use disorders, providing round-the-clock care and a full suite of clinical services.

“It is a 3.5 high-intensity residential facility. It’s something that Lynchburg really hasn’t seen at this scale before,” said David Cassise, Executive Director of Mainspring Recovery in Lynchburg. “We will have up to 111 beds here, and it’s something that Lynchburg has been needing for decades.”

Full-Spectrum Residential Addiction Treatment

The new facility offers a 30-day high-intensity residential treatment program, including comprehensive care that spans medical detoxification, behavioral health therapy, peer recovery support, and life skills development. For many patients, the initial 30-day program may be followed by another 30-60 days of step-down residential care based on individual clinical needs.

Participants will have access to a range of evidence-based therapies, including:
●    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

●    Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

●    Motivational Interviewing

●    Trauma-informed care

●    12-Step facilitation and support groups

●    Relapse prevention education

●    Family therapy and counselling sessions

In addition, the program integrates holistic wellness services such as fitness and nutrition counselling, mindfulness practices, and recreational therapy, reinforcing Mainspring’s philosophy of treating the whole person and not just the addiction.
“They come out of that bad environment into a supportive environment,” added Cassise. “That’s key to their recovery.”

A Deeply Personal Mission

Founded in 2022, Mainspring Recovery was born out of a personal tragedy and a deep desire to offer hope and healing to others. For co-founder and CEO Yitzy Halon, the mission is as personal as it is professional.
“The day before we opened our first facility, my mother called to tell me my brother had taken his own life as a result of his struggles with substance use and mental health,” Halon shared. “It really drove home the why for me, the incredible need for the services we provide and why I’m so motivated.”

Building on a Proven Foundation

Mainspring’s success in Northern Virginia, particularly through its Dumfries and Triangle locations, has demonstrated the critical importance of community-cantered care. These centres have delivered recovery services to hundreds of individuals through residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and low intensity programs.
