Montage Technology is making waves with the release of their new generation of processors, the 5th Gen Jintide CPUs. These new chipsets are actually Intel’s 5th Gen Xeon processors that have been rebranded and are now being sold by Montage as their own.
This isn’t the first time that Chinese companies have taken Intel or AMD CPUs, slapped their own label on them, and passed them off as their own product. Just look at PowerStar’s X86 processors, which were essentially Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake processors. Montage Technology has joined the club by rebadging Intel 5th Gen Xeon processors and selling them as 5th Gen Jintide processors.
Despite the different branding, it doesn’t take long to realize that these are indeed Intel’s “Emerald Rapids” Xeon CPUs. A quick glance at their specs and part numbers confirms the match with Intel Xeon SKUs.
A deeper look reveals that the specs of the rebranded chips are identical to their Intel counterparts, with the top-end 5th Gen Jintide CPU topping out at 48 cores, 96 threads, 260 MB L3 cache, and 350W TDP. Interestingly, Montage Technology took just four days to rebrand these newly-launched “Emerald Rapids” chipsets.
