The Dallas Mavericks fell to a disappointing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies ater the opportunity to extend their win streak to four straight games went amiss. They delivered a lackluster effort against a depleted Memphis Grizzlies team which halted their momentum.
Disappointing fans in attendance at American Airlines Center, the Mavs suffered a 120-103 loss to the Grizzlies. Adding to the frustration was the fact that the Grizzlies were playing without their two best players in Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr., who both sat out with injuries.
Despite missing its stars, Memphis played like a well-oiled machine, shooting 48.4 from the field and 37.8 from three-point range. The team led by as many as 22 points and also dominated the glass, pulling down 18 offensive rebounds and outrebounding Dallas 54-33.
The Mavs were unable to capitalize on a strong night from their star duo, as Kyrie Irving poured in 33 points and Luka Doncic added 31 points. Desmond Bane led the way for the Grizzlies with 32 points and nine rebounds.
